The sky was gloomier then it usually was in the suburbs. The reeking scent of the Thunderpath had distinguished the scent of remaining petrichor. Most of the rogues around the city had been in a strong conflict and riots had struck in the eastern side of the twolegplace. Even now the riot was continuing to break loose again. And this all began from a sickly tom stealing garbage from a group of feisty rogues. Why do they all have to fight?
a small kit asked herself. She hated the idea of living in such a place with so much war and violence. Her dad doesn't listen to her, he only tells her to grow up, to stop being a child. She was only 3 moons old, and he thinks she can fend on her own.
She sighed as she groomed her own, long and grimy fur. Her mother didn't even had the time to do it herself.
" Hey shorty!" Yarrow called from the rim of a trash can. The kit knew this tom from her father, they were best friends you could say. "You look a little hungry, Want to get some food with me?" The kit's eyes grew wide with happiness as she stood upright to the tom, " About time!" she purred.
Yarrow brought the kit to a territory she didn't know. It smelled of something unfamiliar, like mice. But she ignored it to the knowledge that it wielded food.
" See that?" he allured with his tail to the kit. He was pointing at a tilted garbage can, spewing out of it the scent of the strange animal increased, and then coated over with the delectable smell of fresh twoleg food. Without thought, The kit raced over to the small silver bin and began to devour the scraps. "Careful! There may be-" the voice of his absence struck for a moment as her eye grew in a singe of pain. She sprang on two heels, howling in terror and agony. " HELP!" What clung to her face was a rat, black and vile in it's injuries. " TIRE NO!" Yarrow sprang into action. The one problem was the rat showed no harm in releasing his sharp teeth of the ki- Tire's face. By force, yarrow had to rake Tire's face in order to have the rodent release his grip.
"DISGUSTING THING!" Tire's mother, Dust, spat from afar. She knew that her mamma was inferring about her Golden eyes and revolting scars. " And I thought she was smart enough to get through a rat fight without a mark. Yarrow, she's too weak"
Yarrow lowered his head, dusk breaking through the dim clouds. He sighed as he turned again to the kit " I don't think Tire suits as a name for her," he began " something like, tribble or-" "- Corrupt" Dust finished, " Her name will be Corrupt!"
Yarrow stared in disbelief to the mothers final answer, but only padded away as the father padded into the alley. " What the hell happened, Why's there blood everywhere?!" he snarled as he followed the trail to the small kit. " Oh, she couldn't handle it." he mewed simply.
" How bad is Tir-" " Corrupt's scars? Their not as bad as your chest was that one day"
Padding back, her father murmured " We should have never had a kit" With a flick of his unusually striped tail, he padded over to Dust and sat down, Leaving Corrupt to sob on her nest of trash bags.
Days passed on as Corrupt began to adapt to her one functioning eye. Even though all wasn't clear, She was amused with her achievement. Some day I'll make daddy proud
From the other side of the brick wall, She could hear her father patrolling the area as he did on a daily basis. "Fallenwing!" an unknown voice called, " We just encountered your own kin near the Fractured grasslands. Should we kill him?" " That old coot will be gone before you can fight him.. And call me Fallen, A pitiful forester name from that Searclan is the last thing I need ever since my daughter-" Fallenwing paused for a moment, a small smile streaking across his face " Okay, bring Corrupt with you. I can get rid of that fur ball once and for all!"
The next thing Corrupt heard was etching claws raking against the wall. They know I'm here?
Frightened, she began to panic of the thoughts of leaving her home!
With the adrenaline pumping quickly in her veins, she sprang into action and thought of the first thing that came into her mind. She pounced into a trash bin and began to swim deeper into the black bags. Her scent had reeked of rat, but she had known that twoleg food covered it easily.
In deep darkness, she heard the pitter patter of the other cat's pads hitting against the blacktop quickly. Then, it stopped.... and THUD! To the left of the trash can she heard the screeching of metal against the dog teeth reinforced claws. Her heart could had been ripped out of her body. Beating so fast, so strong...
Her blood felt glacier cold as the sound stopped.... for only a few heartbeats.... " She must have scampered away again" the unfamiliar voice called. Even through the rubber, she could hear the strange sound of rain hitting the ground. But only one by one. She reminded herself that when father got angry, he spitted on the ground.
When nighttime had struck the city again, The streetlights urging forward through the night, Corrupt struggled free from the garbage bin, the roaring sounds of Monsters covering the sound of her small claws struggling out of the blasted thing.I hope momma will want me back!
She had always urged herself to believe that her parents loved Her. In such a time of darkness and ever ending feud, they were the only thing she could have left.
"Go to sleep already" the sound of Dust growled silently to Fallen, who's figure could just barely be seen, like a mirage in the black velvet night.
"It's just... It's just about Corrupt.. Could we have been-"
"- a little to hard on her? Yes... But she doesn't have our eye color, or your pelt or-"
"Yes... But mate to mate, we need her for the war"
"Because no Foresters will take the time to attack an injured kit.... Your right... I'll talk to her tomorrow"
"If you find her that is"
Corrupt glared in dismay at the two. She now felt hollow, regret for herself to even be alive. She had not grown up to the expectations of her own parents! Her feeling to back down the thoughts of their love had overcome her. Her face that had been clustered with dry tears, now held a face of anger and envy to the two..
" That's what you think of me? A puppet for a war?" She mewed out loud. Her parents turned, their piercing, owl like eyes as if staring into her soul with pity and shock.
"War... That's all you want from a simple kit?! MADNESS!" " We think of you as a key to victory and glory for our ki-" " LIES! ALL OF THESE LIES! Why can't you love me like a forest cat? Like a real mother? A real father?
!" Teardrops rolled down her cheeks and fuzzy pelt. Her tail was dropped low and she lowered her head in silence.
Fallen was the first to walk over to her, his blue eyes for some reason, showing a flash of care and comfort. The last time he had ever shown that face was when Corrupt was born. " Shhhh...." he whispered in her ear gently, his tail wrapping around her small figure, " You are our warrior, our savior. My dear, your Corrupted figure will never disrupt what is truly inside your soul, we see what will be. And some day, I will be very proud of you"
Corrupt, bawling her eyes out, instantly dug her head into her fathers flank. They really did care for her... A savior? The simple and soothing word had rang in her ears for what seemed forever.
As dawn began to break the black velvet of a new moon, the rumbling sound of a monster began to roar forward, echoing off the walls, it grew louder and louder... Until it seemed it was coming strait towards the small, barbaric family of cats. With gleaming white eyes, the monster stopped in the entrance of the alley. The side of it cracked open, the twolegs resting in it's belly dashed out, their cobweb sticks held high. Corrupt had never seen such a thing. And she wouldn't any longer. Fallen tugged her by the scruff and threw her deep into the garbage bag pile. Her one eye seeing it all, she watched as her parents were eaten alive by the monster, cobwebs flown across their bodies.NO!
She leaped from the garbage and began to ran for the monster, it's shiny pelt glimmering tauntingly to her. " I will find you, I will! If it's until my last breath, I will never lose you!"
To the time now, Corrupt still had never found her parent.. Or has she? Her mother Dust had died in the animal shelter, refusing to eat any of the pellets, she died of starvation.. But her father, Fallen or in other words Fallenwing took a different fate to the day. He then joined Searclan once again in deep regret of loosing his mate.
To Yarrow... Just simple to say that he became a kittypet from being captured by the twolegs as well.
And Before that day, all silence for a young kit was truly destroyed for the happiness of her own greedy parents...
